About the Jr Hoya Cross Country

The Junior Hoya Cross Country team was created in 2007 in order to offer a youth running program for the students in the West Cobb area.  Our program is a branch of Harrison High School's cross country program, but it is open to all 5th-8th graders interested in running.  The Jr Hoya XC program relies on coaches and parent volunteers to ensure everything runs smoothly.

The mission of the program is to introduce young athletes to the sport of cross country, to promote a healthy lifestyle, and to encourage fun and sportsmanship through running.  The runners will compete in 2-mile cross country meets around the greater Atlanta area (i.e. Acworth, Roswell, Jasper, Cartersville).  We practice Monday and Thursday evenings for summer runs during June & July and for official practice from August through October at Lost Mountain Park. Family runs are offered on Saturday mornings near Illinois Monument off of Cheatham Hill Dr. In the spring we participate in a few distance track meets to keep in shape. We will work with other sports schedules, so give running a try!

We hope you want to run with us!  Click on the registration tab to sign up and contact Kelly Duncan for more information and to receive Remind texts about practice/meets.
